Chocolate Cream Ringed Shaped Cookies


1 cup cold fresh cream
1 tablespoon butter at room temperature
1 cup sugar
½ cup Neugebauer powdered chocolate
½ tablespoon baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup corn starch
3 ½ cups flour (approximately)
1 cup crystallized sugar to roll rings in




In a bowl, mix thoroughly the cream, butter, sugar, and egg. Add the baking powder, chocolate, and cornstarch mixing well. Slowly add flour, hand mixing the dough until it is ready to shape. Preheat the oven to medium/low temperature. Getting portions of the dough, hand roll them into sticks, with the thickness of your finger, then cut them into 10cm strips. Next bring together the two ends forming rings. Dip one side in sugar then set it on a cookie sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes. Yields about 40 cookies. If you would prefer to dip the cookies in chocolate glaze after they are baked, then do not dip them in the sugar.
